Alberobello

Ostuni Cathedral

Ostuni’s Cathedral is dedicated to St Mary of the Assumption and lies on a site that has been home to places of worship since 1000. The Duomi di Ostuni that stands on this lofty spot today was constructed during the 13th century in a Romanesque style but was rebuilt during the 1400s in a Gothic style after an earthquake.

The Museo di Civilta Preclassiche della Murgia

This fascinating museum is found inside the Convento delle Monacelle and is home to a famous exhibit – Delia – whose well-preserved skeleton was discovered in a nearby cave. Pregnant when she died 25,000 years ago, Delia is just one of the many finds in the museum from a local burial ground dating back to the Paleolithic era.
